Japanese collaboration results in COPD Discovery

In collaboration with a Japanese research group the UCSD PEG researchers discover that the human loss of Siglec-14 reduces risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation.  Their discovery has significant implications for prognosis and management of COPD.
