The division of LID-PEG who call the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center their home, under the directorship of Mike Tiemeyer, is offering a 3-day Skills Development Training Course entitled “Analytical Glycobiology” from April 22 – 24, 2013 in Athens, GA. The goal of the course is to familiarize participants with cutting-edge methods for glycoconjugate extraction, glycan release, and structural characterization by mass spectrometry.  A major emphasis will be placed on the O-linked glycans of large molecular weight glycoproteins, such as mucins, but considerations related to N-linked and glycosphingolipid glycans will also be included.  The course will have a significant hands-on component that will analyze authentic and complex biological samples.   In order to ensure a quality experience for all, a SMALL NUMBER of slots remain and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
